Manually Changing Call Result/ Lead Status

It would be super helpful if the status of a contact could be changed even if the number is not currently being dialed. For instance sometimes I hand dial contacts and need to change the status so they are not called by my caller. Or sometimes contacts in our campaigns get our direct mail and I would like to change their status within the dialer.
